Reflexology Lymph Drainage - RLD

TREATMENT

Reflexology Lymphatic drainage (RLD), developed to support patients with lymphoedema following treatment for breast cancer.

Ideally treatment follows a 4 weekly course, followed by treatments as and when required. An initial consultation and assessment will be completed, followed by a specific relaxing 45min treatment.

Should you wish, arm measurements to be taken before and after treatment an additional 15mins will be required, taking the treatment to 1hour.

Following treatment patient may notice less swelling and discomfort, increased mobility, and relaxation.

Patients may experience many difficulties following surgery and treatment for breast cancer. Reflexology and other complementary therapies, alongside conventional medical care, may help to improve quality of life and bring comfort to clients living with certain chronic conditions.

Those who have a medical condition, who are taking medication or are pregnant should consult their GP, midwife or other health care professional before having Complementary Therapies .

MY INTEREST

My initial interest in Reflexology for breast care happened just by chance. After treating one of my clients for stress to aid relaxation following a mastectomy. My client noticed a marked reduction in the swelling of her arm, as well as distressing, calming and relaxing her.

Also by chance I came across research and a course for Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD) run by Sally Kay.  Following completion of the RLD course I now wish to bring this wonderful treatment to those who may benefit.
